How are you?  This is a common greeting in our culture.  However, most of the time we mean “Hi!” rather than a desire to know how the other person is doing physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually.

Most of us are stressed out due to the demands of work, home, and our private lives.  It would be nice to know someone cares enough to take the time to listen and understand our struggles.  Someone who can bring comfort, guidance and hope in this hectic world we live in.

Jesus is that person.  I am not talking about the cultural Jesus that people and/or religion has concocted out hearsay or mythology, but the real Jesus, the one whose story is told in the Bible.  You can read it for yourself.  This Jesus is the Son of God.  He came into our world to do what is impossible for us to do for ourselves.  He came to rescue us out of the external and internal mess we live in.

Actually, His plan has two parts.  The future part involves the outward mess.  When He comes again, this world as we know it will end.  Jesus will establish a whole new world.  The Present part is called the Gospel or Good News.  Why?  Jesus came to die on a cross for our sins.  He was willing to pay the penalty for sin with His own blood as our substitute.  That means that God, the Father, can offer us forgiveness and cleansing from the inside out.

When Jesus asks, “How are you?”  He really means it.  Blom Prairie is a family of believers who have discovered this Good News. You are welcome to come and experience the love of God that we share as forgiven sinners.
